Tea is for Tuesday – Weekly Recipe #23

We have our first possible frost tonight in the Midsouth and my bones agree with the weatherman on this one.  Makes me just want to soak in a nice hot bath, full of beautiful and healing herbs. But alas, it’s time for Tea for Tuesday and that’s actually an amazing time! 🙂 However, my inspiration comes from the frosty bite coming for us and I wanted to find some good warm-the-bones recipes to share with you today.  We’re coming to that time of the year where they will be necessary on the regular.

This one is fruit based – for those of us clinging to days of warmth and fruity goodness of the spring and summer.

Ingredients
  • 1 can (46 ounces) pineapple juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 teaspoons cloves
  • 2 family size tea bags
Instructions
  1. Pour juices in a large pot and heat to medium heat. Add tea bags, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
  2. Bring mixture to a light simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to low and remove the tea bags and spices.
  4. Serve warm and garnish with fruit slices if desired.

You can use something like a tea ball or cheesecloth to help with fishing out the herbs before serving.  And this recipe should take about 5 minutes to prep and about 30 minutes on the stovetop leaving you with 8 beautiful servings of this scrumptious heart warming beverage.
